Our delivery plan is ambitious and sets us great challenges. The journey ahead looks tough, but not insurmountable if we plan ahead and equip our people with the skills and capabilities to enable us to perform.

I am really delighted to introduce the ‘Leading to deliver' programmes that are designed to support the change that is underway within IND. The programmes offer us all – directors, managers and emerging leaders too – the opportunity to explore what leadership within IND means for ourselves and our organisation and how as leaders we can create the environment in which our people feel able to meet the challenges of the delivery plan. To attend, you need to demonstrate what you will achieve through participation and how you will develop your capabilities as a leader of change in IND.

I urge you to seize this opportunity to develop and learn. You’ll build on your strengths, think and act differently where appropriate and bring to IND the insights and energy generated by your learning.

We all know that it is only through our staff that we can achieve our objectives, and that requires good leadership at all levels, giving people the direction they need, but also the space in which to come up with ideas for improving things.

I believe these programmes will help us develop that capacity. I hope those of you who join in them find them both enjoyable and worthwhile.
